David Benioff and D.B. Weiss recently revealed that due to the long-awaited arrival of winter, season seven filming has been pushed back.
“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later,” Weiss said.
“We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘winter is here,’ and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
In a recent interview with EW, the showrunners confirmed that the seventh season is the penultimate season of show which is based on the popular book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” byGeorge R.R. Martin.
Titled "The Winds of Winter," the "GOT" season six finale ended with Daenerys finally coming back to Westeros; Jon Snow as king of the North and Cersei sitting on the Iron Throne.
On July 14, the show received 23 Primetime Emmy nominations this 2016. The nominations include 'Outstanding Drama Series,' 'Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series,' 'Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series,' among others.
